Purchasing Textbooks @ the Co-op
Shelf labels show your book requirements as requested by your instructors. Read the shelf tags carefully and match them to your course schedule. Some regional campus stores have book lists posted and provide window/counter service for your textbooks.
Different sections of the same course may require different books and many courses require more than one book. When instructors list texts as optional, the shelf tag will read "Optional." We recommend that you go to class before purchasing books you are not sure you will need. Also, be certain you want to own the book before making a purchase and writing or highlighting in the book.
If you change a course or mistakenly purchase the wrong book, we will gladly make an exchange or refund your money. Just save your receipts and return books in original condition as soon as possible. To avoid problems, we suggest you become familiar with our Textbook Refund Policy.
On rare occasions, we run out of books for a class. When this happens, every attempt is made to expedite the delivery of additional books. If we are out of a book you need, you may complete a Text Reservation Form. You will be notified when it arrives and a copy will be held for you.
Used Textbooks
Our extensive used book program is one of our most important services. Used books represent a tremendous savings opportunity for students. And, when combined with the buyback program, the savings UConn students enjoy totals over $1.2 million in savings each year.
Whenever we are able to obtain used copies of a textbook, we stock it with the new copies at 25% off the new book price.
And because we sell all the books for all the courses and deal with the largest national wholesale firms, the UConn Co-op buys more titles and more books than anyone in New England.
