Return Policy for Computer Products

The staff at the UConn Co-op makes every effort to ensure that you get quality products that best suit your needs. We understand that on occasion, you may change your mind about a product or receive a product that is either defective upon initial use or within a short period of time after use. For that reason we have instituted a technology product return policy that allows you to return or exchange merchandise following these guidelines.

HARDWARE

Computers, monitors, laptops, scanners, printers, PDA's, memory, hard drives, etc.

UNOPENED...14 days for full refund. OPENED...14 days with a 15% restocking fee. Must have original packaging and accessories. SPECIAL ORDER...14 days with 15% restocking fee whether opened or not. DEFECTIVE...Subject to manufacturer guidelines. ON SALE...No return.

SOFTWARE

Applications, operating systems, utilities, etc. 

UNOPENED...14 days for full refund. OPENED...Generally no return, as per software publisher guidelines. SPECIAL ORDER...14 days for unopened with15% restocking fee. DEFECTIVE...14 days. Exchange for the same, except with version change. ON SALE... No return.

CONSUMABLES

Ink and toner cartridges, blank media, cleaning supplies, etc.

UNOPENED...14 days for full refund. OPENED...No return. SPECIAL ORDER...14 days for unopened with 15% restocking fee. DEFECTIVE...14 days. Exchange for the same item. ON SALE... No return.

DEFINITIONS

UNOPENED... item is still in the original box and the seal(s) has not been broken.

OPENED...item has been taken out of the box and the seal(s) to the item and/or accessory has been broken.

SPECIAL ORDER...any item which the Co-op does not keep in-stock on a regular basis, including memory.

DEFECTIVE... it has been determined that the item(s) does not work either out of the box (DOA) or it fails within a period of time defined by the manufacturer.

ON SALE...any item that has been marked down, including software that has had a version change.
