Warranty Computer Repair Services
The UConn Co-op currently provides the warranty hardware support services for all computers purchased under the University of Connecticut's "HuskyPC" program. This includes computers from either of the two preferred vendors currently under University contract - Dell and Apple. Departments that are having computer issues with HuskyPC computers should first call the UITS Help Center to open a help "ticket" and determine whether the issue is a software or hardware issue. Hardware issues will be forwarded by UITS to the UConn Co-op so that a certified technician can be dispatched to your location.
The UConn Co-op offers warranty support services for computers purchased at the UConn Co-op. We are certified by the following manufacturers to provide warranty support for their systems:
Dell, Apple, Sony, Lenovo, Toshiba
Individuals having issues with computers purchased at the UConn Co-op and still covered under warranty should stop by our location in Storrs or any Professional/Regional Campus store. Your computer will be repaired in Storrs and returned to the location you dropped it off at.
Non-Warranty Computer Repair Services
The UConn Co-op does provide out-of-warranty repairs to most brands of computer on a fee basis. If you purchased your computer from a source other than the Co-op and your system is still under warranty, we recommend that you return to the place of purchase for support. If your system is out of warranty and you need software or hardware support, the UConn Co-op will service most brands of computers based on the following fee structure.
The minimum cost to diagnose either software or hardware issues is a set fee of $30. For this fee, we will complete software and hardware tests that will pinpoint the best course of action. If additional time and/or parts are required to complete the repair, we will call you with a quote for the additional costs. If you choose not to authorize the costs for repair because it is too cost prohibitive for the age of the computer, all you owe is the $30 diagnostic fee. If you choose to authorize the costs for repair, we'll expect full payment at the time of completion of the repair.Charges: Generally $60 per hour labor (in-shop) plus any parts required for repair.
